If you own a credit repair business you are no doubt generating your own credit repair leads or, as is the case with most businesses, you are buying credit repair leads from a list broker or lead provider. While researching the credit repair leads business for over 7 years I have undoubtedly found the good, the bad the ugly and also the elite credit repair leads. When it comes to sourcing a lead provider for your business it pays to do your research. In this four-part series, I will discuss what I have learned through trial and error while navigating the treacherous credit repair leads industry.

Part 2; The Bad

What is the difference between "the ugly" and "the bad" credit repair leads? Well, the ugly is a down right-rip off and complete waste of time, money and sales room moral. Moreover, these lists have no business being labeled a credit repair lead to begin with and should be avoided at all times. "The bad" credit repair leads can be can still be classified as legitimate credit repair leads soley because the consumer has a low FICO score. These credit repair leads can be purchased from an Experian or TRW data reseller. Other types of "the bad" credit repair leads are the compiled type, such as homeowner lists that are derived from sub-prime mortgage data. These are also in no way a response lead but are indeed people in need of a better credit profile. Whether they desire credit repair is unknown.

In summary, stay away from compiled homeowner lists and credit repair leads offered by credit reporting agencies as those consumers are difficult to generate sales. These people are not expecting someone to contact them about credit repair which classifies these credit repair leads as "the bad".
